Phillips-Medisize Corporation is a world-class injection molder of plastics, metal, ceramic, and silicone. The Phillips-Medisize - New Richmond* facility is one of 14 Phillips facilities located in Wisconsin. With its corporate philosophy of "All People Are Important," the company dedicates the time and staff needed to train its workers in day-to-day operations while incorporating respect for the environment. As an example, in 2007 employee programs resulted in 700 trees planted, 999 energy-saving lamps sold and many free home energy audits provided.
Environmental activities
Focusing on low volume medical programs, Phillips-Medisize – New Richmond uses an environmental management system registered to ISO 14001 to assist in managing both regulated and unregulated environmental activities. Its waste reduction, reuse and recycling successes are numerous, and the newly retrofitted lighting system for the Phillips-Medisize – New Richmond facility could save more than 250,000 kilowatt-hours of energy a year. As a Green Tier participant, Phillips-Medisize – New Richmond will work toward superior environmental performance using continuous improvement processes focused on reducing waste generation, energy use and exploring additional recycling options in order to better its relationship with their natural environment, workers and community.
