On February 7, 2024, EPA finalized a more stringent NAAQS for fine particles (PM2.5). The previous PM2.5 annual standard set in 2012 was 12 µg/m³. The new, more stringent standard is now 9 µg/m³. The PM2.5 24-hour standard and the PM10 standard will remain unchanged. The DNR Air Management program will host an informational session on March 4, 2024 at 2:30 p.m. to provide an overview of the rule and how it impacts Wisconsin. |

Publishing procedures
2011 Wisconsin Act 167 [exit DNR] went into effect on Aug. 1, 2012. This act requires the DNR to post hearing and permit notices on the department's website, in addition to newspapers.
